Spring Break Reading Frenzy!

Back in November 2011, the library acquired the Automated Materials Handling System (AMH), which has significantly increased our productivity.

How? Well, the circulation staff has been able to dedicate more time to getting the items you love back on the shelf for others to check them out and also more time to “shelf-read," which is  the process of making sure books are organized correctly to help you find them quickly and easily.

The week of March 12-16 was Frisco ISD’s spring break, which was a real test for just how fast the AMH allows us to get your favorite books, DVDs, and CDs back on the shelves. The Monday of spring break we almost hit 6,000 check-outs! Pretty impressive! Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of that week were just as busy with check-outs hitting over 5,000.

Thanks to AMH, it allowed us to keep our shelves stocked with good reads during the busy week. It also allowed us to keep our collection in order so it’s easier for you to find exactly what you are looking for!
