Kate Bernstein takes storytime at the library very seriously. That’s because she comes from a twenty-three year long teaching background and knows a good educational opportunity when she sees one. “The story times at the library are fantastic. Very educational, well put together, and organized. They encourage socialization skills between the children and combines so many different ways of learning; tactile, sensory, verbal, and it even includes language learning skills through the use of American Sign Language! “Not only does story time contribute to wonderful learning experiences for children, but the entire second floor of the library has so much to children by way of educational opportunities. The materials are far-reaching, cover many age levels, the kitchen and puppets are fantastic, and all of these elements put together encourage interaction among all the different cultures represented at the library. On top of that, the library staff is very knowledgeable, very helpful, and very professional. I feel that the Frisco Library is a fantastic resource for the community.” And it’s a resource Kate deeply values -- she has been coming to the library story times for two years with her grandson and rarely misses a week.
