Librarians Give You Permission

By FPL_Staff

Over the years, it seems that people have forgotten that the old saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is a metaphor for not judging a person by their appearance. You should not judge a person by their appearance, but your librarians are here to tell you that it’s okay to judge a book by its cover.

My Life as An Ice Cream Sandwich

It's okay to browse the shelves and look for a book that appeals to you. Covers are created to pull you in, tell you about the story, and set the tone of the book. Most titles have excellent covers that do their job well. So if the cover doesn’t appeal to you then put it back and find one that does. If you need help finding a book, please ask us. Librarians love nothing more than sharing our love of reading with you!
