Building Time for Yourself

By FPL_Staff

I remember going to my cousin's house when I was a child and dumping out his Lego bin on the carpet (probably to my aunt's dismay). All the colors and shapes mesmerized me, and I quickly snapped pieces together to build a tiny "house" or a wheeled "car."  My imagination usually filled in the blanks. I loved LEGO bricks as a child and now my love for them has resurfaced because my 9-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter love them too! Our special "LEGO time" allows me to spend quality time with them, but it is also very relaxing for me.

Playing with LEGO bricks is a great way for adults to unwind. The bricks take your eyes away from the screens and allows you to focus on something tangible. LEGOs have come a long way from when I was a child and there are sets for just about every interest and skill level.
