These multipurpose cookers have captured the imagination of the public. However, how do you know if one is right for you? How do you choose from all the different makes and models?
The interest in these devices is that not only are they a slow cooker, but also a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, and a yogurt maker all in one device. That can all add up to freeing up some valuable cabinet space in your kitchen. Beyond the space saving benefits a multi-function device, these devices also have some automated safety features that you don’t find on a traditional stovetop pressure cooker.
Most all the reviewers agree that these devices are perfect for those who would love to achieve that dishes that are soft and tender, but without the hours and hours of cooking. In short, these devices are well suited for soups, stews, chili, and just about anything that uses beans or rice. For things like cooking whole chickens, you may have to adjust your expectations.
Choosing the Right Make and Model
You could spend a lot of time and money purchasing several and testing each one out over the next couple of months. Or, you rely on the professional reviews that go in depth on just what each make model excels at doing. Here are a couple of my favorites (get your library card and password ready):
