Did you know that at the back (east side) of the Frisco Public Library, there’s a drive-thru?!
Made so you can easily return items or pickup holds at your convenience, all without having to leave your vehicle. There are two separate lanes depending on your need.
- Returns
- The first return slot is automatic and senses when a book is being returned. The metal slot slides up and your returns go up and over the drive-thru and into our workroom where they’re checked back in. If you want to see a cool video of a book making its way back to us, check this out.
- The second slot is a manual return slot. This opens if the first return is jammed or loses power. These returns go in a bin that staff check regularly, but it does take a little bit longer for the items to come off your account.
- Holds Pickup (Convenience made easy)
- If you received a notification that your holds are ready for pickup, you can go through the drive-thru to get them.
- You do need your library card or license (if already linked to your library card) in order to pick holds up.
- If you are returning items as well as picking up holds, you can give those returns to staff at the drive-thru pick up window so you don’t have to circle back around.
- Please Note: The big plastic Kits need to be returned inside to staff at any Information Desk. These have to be checked before they can be checked in.
- Frisco Library app—Holds Pickup Options
- When placing a hold in your Frisco Library app, you can select a pick up location that works best for you. If you like coming into the library and discovering other cool finds while you pick up your holds, the Frisco Main Library is the option for you. But, if you’re on the go and like to save time when getting your holds, the Drive-thru Window is the place for you.

- If you’re interested in other options, we also have book lockers for holds pickup at the Frisco Athletic Center and at our small location inside the Stonebriar mall called CONNECTION. You do need your library card to pick up items from the book lockers, but if you don’t have one physically, the Frisco Library app’s got your back! In the upper right corner is a card image. Click on that and you’ve got a digital barcode ready to go.
