Feeling overwhelmed when trying to choose a new book for your child? Or maybe you are facing the challenge of the decade…helping your kids explore graphic novels beyond Dog Man! (hint: check out the Texas Little Maverick Graphic Novel reading list, opens a new window) Whatever the case might be, these book lists and award-winners are here to help.
Let’s start with the big three: Texas 2x2, Texas Bluebonnet Award, and the Lone Star Reading list. The library has designated sections for each. 2x2 and Bluebonnet books are found in the youth section, and the Lone Star books are on the 2nd Level in the teen section. We keep the current and previous year’s books on these designated shelves. After that the books go back into the general collection.
Since they're very popular and are often assigned reading, you may need to place them on hold. Please see this blog post if you need help or ask staff for assistance.
