What happens when Adult Services staff step away from the desk and onto the “field”?
We challenged our team to a Soccer Showdown: Who can kick a soccer ball the farthest?
But since we’re a library, we measured each kick then converted the distance into something much more on brand: Books!
Using a standard 6×9 inch book, we figured out how many books each kick would be if they were laid end-to-end.
And our staff brought their game! The results are below:
Amy - 30ft or 40 books
Michelle - 36ft or 48 books
Jessica - 37.5ft or 50 books
Charlie - 63ft or 84 books
Adam - 63ft or 84 books
Jasmine - 65.25ft or 87 books
Lee - 72ft or 96 books
Shelby - 72ft or 96 books
David - 73.5ft or 98 books
Thomas - 75ft or 100 books
Sabrina - 79.5ft or 106 books
Assata - 84ft or 112 books
And a big drumroll for our winner of the competition….
John with 87.3ft or ~116 books!
While none of us will be going pro anytime soon, we had some friendly competition. We hope this inspires you to embrace your soccer skills this summer!
