2023 Friends’ Reading Challenge – June Genre

By FPLFriend_Susan

Boy did May fly by quickly! June is here and summer is nearly official. So let’s read a SUMMER READ! The genre we are encouraging you to read is a “Beach Book” or a book that takes place somewhere else. That’s pretty easy right? Read a book set in Europe, in Bombay, or Boston, MA. Read a book about the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia or about buskers at the streets of New York City!

Once you’ve read the book, stop in The Bookshop and fill out a form telling us about the book to be entered into a drawing for a monthly prize. Each month we’ll randomly select one participant to receive a $5 Book Bucks Card that you can use at The Bookshop! Be sure to enter by June 30th to be considered. This reading challenge is open to readers of any age.

Below, you will find some books that we recommend within this genre. The Bookshop has many great titles and of course the Library has plenty of books that will fit the challenge. The Friends volunteers look forward to you stopping by The Bookshop to purchase a book or to enter the monthly drawing.
