Caring for the Caregiver

Caregiving reflects kindness, strength and a deep devotion to others. Caregivers can be spouses, parents, adult children, grandparents, siblings, and in-laws.

Caretaking can look like endless doctor appointments, long phone calls and waiting room times, managing medications, advocating, physical and emotional labor. All while balancing work, school, life, family and friends. It is a continuous act of compassion for another person. There is resiliency, courage, and love in caregiving.

Caregiver burnout is very common but is often not always talked about. Your well-being matters too. Small moments of restoration are not selfish, they are sustaining.
