National Moon Day is July 20. This day commemorates the first landing on the moon in 1969 by the crew of Apollo 11 and subsequently the first lunar walk by Neil Armstrong. This day not only celebrates the past but also celebrates future endeavors. NASA will return to the moon with the Artemis III mission by 2025 and hope to begin work with a permanent lunar outpost with the Artemis IV mission.
