Information for Local Authors

By FPL_ElizabethC

North Texas is home to a lot of authors. If you’ve just joined that illustrious group, congratulations!

At the Frisco Public Library, we are pleased to provide a home for the work of Frisco authors in our Community Authors collection, housed on the 2nd Level.

If you’re wondering how to have your book added to the Community Authors collection, the process is simple, but the following criteria must be met:

  1. The author currently resides in Frisco.
  2. The book was published within the past three (3) years and is in a new, unused condition.
  3. The author completes the form below and follows subsequent instructions for donating a copy of the book.
  4. The author donates one (1) copy of the book for consideration. Submissions must be printed and bound in a format suitable for circulation. Digital formats are not accepted.
  5. Library staff reviews the submission using the selection criteria in Section 9 (Access to Ideas and Information through Purchased Materials) of the Service Policy, opens a new window.

After the form is submitted, you will receive an email informing you whether we are able to accept a donated copy of your book for consideration and, if so, instructions for next steps. Please allow one (1) week for response.

Books accepted for consideration are subject to the following guidelines:

  1. Donated books become the property of the Library and cannot be returned.
  2. The Library is solely responsible for determining the disposition of donated books.

For more information about the Community Authors Collection, please see Appendix A13 of the Service Policy, opens a new window

Congratulations again and happy writing!
