Celebrate Christmas in July with us! Interesting fact, the concept of Christmas in July actually began at a summer camp in South Carolina 90 years ago. This fun summer celebration has turned into a tradition across the globe and many now "celebrate" Half Christmas or Christmas in July with events, sales, Christmas movie marathons, and even caroling. Well, the Friends of the Frisco Library doesn't have a choir, but we do have the Bookshop, so we will celebrate with a fun, festive display and sales of all things Christmas and winter related.
Since we have all of the Christmas inventory out the July Reading Challenge Genre is books that include Christmas, winter, or any winter holidays. Think Polar Express, The Gift of the Magi, or even How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We have all sorts of kids' books, youth and early reader books and adult fiction and non-fiction titles. The display also includes puzzles, magazines, DVDs, and a few music CDs. Stop by soon for best selection and pick out something special to read specifically for the Friends' Reading Challenge. After you've escaped in a book to the cool winter season, stop by the Bookshop and fill out an entry form by July 31st! One lucky winner will win a $5 Book Bucks card that can be used for any items in the Bookshop!
We have too many options to share photo ideas for the Bookshop but below are a few library titles that would suit the challenge nicely.
