In this month of relationships and love we thought we’d inspire you by challenging you to read a Love Story or a Story about Friendship. A book like The First Ladies, opens a new window, highlights the importance of female friendships under stressful circumstances. Reading a book like My Sister’s Keeper, opens a new window could break your heart while also highlighting the special relationship between siblings. Children could read a book from the Elephant and Piggie series by Mo Willems because those two are great friends. Older kids might enjoy seeing the friendships develop within the Harry Potter Series. The Friends’ Reading Challenge lets you choose the book that you are excited to read!
There is a display in the Bookshop brimming with books that suit the genre or you can choose one from the library’s collection. Once you have read a book of your choosing, stop by the Friends’ Bookshop before the end of the month and complete the brief entry form. A winner will be notified soon after the new month begins. Complete rules for the Reading Challenge can be found below and in The Bookshop. One lucky reader will win a $5 Book Buck Card that can be used in the Bookshop. Happy reading!
